I awoke in the dark on my bathroom floor. I knew I was having an insulin reaction. I couldn’t get up; I knew there was no food in the bathroom; I knew I was in trouble. So I pressed my Life Alert button. Within very few minutes, 5 burly EMT’s were flashing lights in my face and saying, “Are you all right?” They got me back in my bed. Because of your info, they took a blood test. I measured 33, normal is 80-120, (I wasn’t too far from being dead!). They gave me some kind of sugar shot and I returned to my normal intelligence. By this time, the fire truck with more EMT’s were there with flashing lights. The EMT’s toted me out to the ambulance and off we were to ER. They revived me with orange juice, etc... They allowed me to go home 12 hours later. I have been bragging about Life Alert ever since. I certainly got it at the right time. You saved my life.

I have a replaced right knee done 13 years ago. The knee cap does not track properly. I could not stand on it when trying to get up from my bed to use the bathroom. Pushing my Life Alert button paramedics came and located where I have a key outside the house. Took me to the ER. Now in a brace and using walker until I can get replacement surgery, so glad I had the alert system.

Suddenly I fell backwards and hit the back of my head creating a very big bump – like a large apple – could not get up –trying by holding onto heavy furniture or my recliner, but I could not get myself up. After an hour I thought to call Life Alert – I always have the pendant around my neck. I do not have any idea why I fell as I did not become dizzy, lose consciousness or bleed. I spoke to the young man in the office and he assured me that help was on the way. I live about 34 miles from the hospital where the two young firemen are stationed and they came quickly. The young man and the office never left me alone, telling me how far the men were, so I did not worry. They were very kind and got me up into my recliner, I was ok, but quite shaken. The office called my daughter and my son. Fortunately my grandson lives in my neighborhood and they told him and he came right over. I had a very wonderful experience with Life Alert and am grateful for the great service.

I had a bad fall involving a rug just in the hallway lobby, which I had moved. Bleeding from a head wound, I pressed the Life Alert button which I always wear on the wrist. Within 10 minutes the police opened the locked door and took me to the hospital. My head and elbow required stitches.

I can’t remember the exact date, but I was experiencing 2 weeks of diarrhea where I could not leave the house without an accident. I tried several remedies, but nothing was working, so I called Life Alert about 11:00pm. They sent an ambulance within about 10 minutes and took me to the medical hospital. Emergency crew checked my symptoms and said I was also dehydrated. They gave me a pill (anti-diarrhea) and sent me home with list suggestions. I was much better and was completely well in 2 weeks. They were all polite and very helpful.

My husband fell backwards onto the garage floor. I used the Life Alert button on the box in the kitchen. Within 10 minutes the police arrived and within a few more minutes the paramedics arrived. They carefully lifted my husband and brought him into the family room. My husband did not wish to be taken to the hospital.

I have had several causes to call Life Alert. The officer in charge were very helpful. I live alone so I am thankful to have the confidence to know I will be taken care of in an emergency.
